• Purim War has Begun?

  SATURDAY - We had a very stormy Shabbat here in the south of Israel and particularly in my beloved hometown of Ashdod. Last night [Friday March 9] at 9:55 PM, multiple red alert sirens sent us scurrying for cover. Ashdod and surrounding areas were hit with nine GRAD missiles fired from Gaza. Subsequent attacks occurred at 12:25 AM, 2:50 AM, 6 AM, and 7:10 AM.

  ...The day was quiet more or less, except that everyone was sleepy in the synagogue from being up intermittently all night. In the middle of praying Shmona Esrai during Maariv at the termination of Shabbat, there was a sixth attack on Ashdod, namely at 6:30 PM. There was an additional attack an hour ago at 8:15 PM.  The Iron Dome missile defense system has worked superbly in Ashdod, knocking down several missiles that were headed for the center of town. Miraculously, all the other missiles landed in open areas and on the outskirts of town.

  SUNDAY - GRAD rockets continue to be fired from Gaza toward Ashdod. We had 5 Red-alerts this morning, at 6:30 AM, 8:15 AM, 8:35 AM, 10:07 and just now at 10:55 AM. Once again, the Iron Dome missile defense system succeeded in intercepting two of the rockets that were headed toward population centers. We thank Hashem for His constant protection.

  If one opens up the TV news in Israel right now, it is plastered with news-type tickers running across the screen announcing that 100 rockets and missiles have been launched against Israel's southern cities, and that there will be no school tomorrow in Beer Sheva, Ashkelon, and Ashdod. They then show scenes where rockets and missiles have slammed into Israel. Some shots show blood splattered from victims that are now in the hospital. The headlines all say 'Escalation in South'.  

  But this is wrong.  This is the method of 'divide and conquer' or 'divide and weaken/dull the senses. ... "Attacks on YESHA roads" "Missiles on the South" Missiles on the North", etc...  And so instead of saying that ISRAEL is under attack, and that a war has been waged against it, the media says that what is happening right now is an 'Escalation in the South', the southern region of Israel.   

  ...We turned on the TV to see the news and they were reporting from Be'er Sheva, Ashkelon and Ashdod simultaneously. On the screen, with reporters in each city, they go from one to the other.  In any case, it was Saturday night now and we had to pack up and leave Ashkelon to get back home for school the next day for my kids.  ...All of a sudden we hear a very loud and clear siren. No mistaking it this time. Cars stop.  Some drivers and passengers get out of their cars in the middle of the street and leave them there and run for cover.  Most though stayed in their vehicles.  Some opened their doors and stood or crouched near their cars.  We stayed in the car and looked out the windows, and THERE!!!!  Up in the sky, headed DIRECTLY our way is a rocket/missile -whatever, glowing yellow and fire-like in the sky.  Flying, flying getting closer and closer to us.  I open my car door and stand outside watching, thinking if it will hit our car or not, but I see it is a little to the right of our vehicle and if it slams into us, it will be maybe a hundred meters or so away, safe enough I believe not to have to run for cover (...but what do I know?) and then to my amazement, the flying bomb explodes in mid-air and dissipates into blackness. (The 'Iron Dome')  However, as this is all happening, my husband says he sees another one coming, but this one from the north, and then I look up and see another fiery orb flying in the sky above and since it is coming from the north, I realize it won't hit us, so stand and watch, as that too ultimately explodes in mid air.  That was what happened, it was over, the light turned green, we all got back into our cars and drove away. 

  The thing that disturbs me here is that the news calls this an 'escalation in the south'.  My friends, schools are closed, a million and a half Israeli citizens will be in bunkers/safe rooms, whatever, having to take cover from these fiery orbs flying over their heads looking to murder as many as possible. ...Our media divides the country by saying it is an escalation on the 'southern' region' - as if it is a problem someone else is having, and we can all go about our business while the government makes some retaliations and tries to keep 'damage control'.  Instead, we must acknowledge, and state clearly to our People, that a ruthless enemy has opened up a war against us that targets our civilians and cities.  They want to kill any and all of us that they can.  They have no problem strapping bombs on their own children if it means killing and maiming Jews.  A ruthless enemy like the Hamas and those populations that support them, should be dealt with ruthlessly -by the Israeli government, until they beg us for peace, and not the other way around.  This is not a tit for tat situation.  This is not a problem in 'the south'.  This is war!  And it won't end until somebody wins it.  Let it be us!

  MONDAY - Now on the third day straight of missile attacks from Gaza, Ashdod was attacked twice this morning, at 10:15 AM and at 10:35 AM. Hashem continues to perform miracles; ...Let's hope for only good news.

  Two more GRAD missiles have just been fired at Ashdod. 

  Update, 2:45 PM Israel
  We've just been attacked again, and this time one of the missiles landed in a heavily populated area, damaging stores, a residential building and cars. An elderly woman has been injured and several people are being treated for shock.

  Update, 3:15 PM Israel
  I'm in my studio, trying to record a new emuna CD, but the siren has gone off again and another two missiles have been fired at Ashdod. These missile attacks are bringing everyone together in Ashdod. People of all backgrounds are taking cover together in the same shelters. Ashdod is a city without zealotry, where people get along with one another in mutual respect.

  In the previous post, I hinted that I think what started Friday night with the missile bombardment of the area including Ashdod, Ashqelon and Beersheva is the beginning of something bigger. Now, I'd like to explain why I believe that the Big War has already begun.

  ... according to Debka, the missiles being fired came from Iran and while today, they are only hitting Ashkelon, Ashdod and Beersheva, tomorrow they may be hitting Tel Aviv! Also, it was a very full moon.  So, it was Erev Shabbat when the Shabbat alarm was to sound at 5:08 when this current round of hostilities was launched. (Please excuse the pun.)

  Does all of this add up to this being the beginning of the end of the geula process? Well, we might just find out that the Purim rumor was true after all...  "...the Gog and Magog war will begin Purim 5772, and continue for two weeks leading up to Rosh Chodesh Nissan 5772....I think there is every possibility that the current conflict will escalate beyond anything that anyone involved could imagine.

  The combined Egyptian-Israeli-Hamas effort to negotiate an early ceasefire in the current round of Palestinian-Israeli violence struck several major obstacles Monday, March 12....Four days into the Gaza violence, this impasse has brought the mediation effort to a close.  ..The breakdown of negotiations, such as they were, has led Israel to escalate its military pressure on Gaza and intensify its air strikes, in the hope of forcing Jihad Islami to stop the missile assaults on its cities.
  

  
  

  But for now, its leaders show no sign of being beaten into accepting a truce and are unlikely to do so, so long as Tehran wants the violence to go on.  The Gaza confrontation is therefore evolving into a military clash between Israel and Iran.  ...Unless these circumstances undergo a radical shift, the million Israelis confined to shelters have no reason to look forward to relief from the missile attacks on their homes and schools – quite the opposite: The conflict looks like escalating.

  aNNa'S NoTe:  Well, I have to say, if we were looking for a war event to begin on Purim, it certainly looks as though it has happened.  It's a REALLY good time to keep your eye on events in Israel.  Because it looks like things may have really gotten underway, now.  This is prophecy, we're talking about - and the time is at hand.

  Terrorists continued to fire rockets at southern Israel for the fourth day in a row. The IDF said that more than 200 rockets have been fired at Israel since the current escalation began on Friday, adding that the escalation marks a “dramatic development” in terms of the quantity and rate of the fire.

  Debka reports that the missiles that have been fired at us for the last seven days have been smuggled from Sinai through tunnels managed by Iranian intelligence agents in conjunction with local al Qaeda networks. That's it folks - Iran and Al Qaida - with Hamas happily sitting on the sidelines. By the way, Hamas has realigned with Iran, and its heads are in Tehran right now coordinating moves with Achmedinejad.  ...This is all a gift from Hashem. With Moshiach so very close, Hashem is teaching us - rush style - that there's no one to depend on but Him. Shabbat Shalom!
