Spring WildFlowers
We went on a flower identification walk this morning, through our woods, out to the garden, and down the quarter-mile drive. We identified:
Bluets Wild Violets
Purple Dead Nettle (my favorite) Spring Beauty
Dutchman’s Britches Trout LilyWild Geranium (smells AMAZING!) and Trillium,
which is supposedly endangered, but we have a TON of it in our woods.… but couldn’t find this flower in the book OR on-line:

I asked Cait – my “expert” – and she didn’t know. So, I’m curious, too!
A few thoughts on this plant.. at first I thought it was Hesperis Matronalis or Dame’s Rocket.. then I thought it was a type of Money Plant.. but I think Dame’s Rocket is on the right track of things.

It’s the leaf that’s throwing me off.. that’s my best guess.
I have to agree with Dame’s Rocket – the leaves are very distinct and it has escaped to become a “wild” flower. Though the flowers are not quite “exact” that sometimes happens in the wild maybe due to the variations not being bred out. I have to run to town but if you wanted to search further I’d concentrate on those distinctive leaves then perhaps the flower.
I think you’re right, and Lydia was elated. Thank you!
