  • Pope Resigns!

I have been told a lot of people ‘thought of me’ this morning when they got on-line and saw the latest news.  That seems to happen whenever there’s a massive quake, tsunami, or catastrophic event of any kind.  People think of me, then.  I find that amusing.  You only check with the ‘oracle’ when something big happens, right?  And there’s been one heckuvan announcement today.   In case you missed it, here it is:

    http://news.yahoo.com/pope-resigns…112923467.html

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict shocked the world on Monday by saying he no longer had the mental and physical strength to cope with his ministry, in an announcement that left his aides “incredulous” and will make him the first pontiff to step down since the Middle Ages.

The German-born Pope, 85, …told cardinals in Latin that his strength had deteriorated recently. He will step down on February 28 and the Vatican expects a new Pope to be chosen by the end of March.

Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said the Pope had not decided to resign because of “difficulties in the papacy” and the move had been a surprise, indicating that even his inner circle was unaware that he was about to quit.

…In recent months, the pope has looked increasingly frail in public, sometimes being helped to walk by those around him.

Now, what does this mean?  Well, if you were around when I blogged thru the death of JPII, you know that I did a whole blog on Malachay and his prophecies.  I also did a recap, but instead of sending you back to those, let me just explain the deal in summary, here:

St. Malachay.  A prophet emerged from within the ‘church’, long ago.  His name was Malachay.  He predicted a list of 112 popes, all the way to the end of the world.  He didn’t give names, but identified them with a singular phrase that described this person.  Many people don’t believe him, but I’ve not heard where his predictions have ever been proven wrong, and so I’m personally open to God working thru this man.  Some of the phrases were interestingly accurate, too.  For instance of Pope Innocent XI, (1676-1689) Malachay wrote “Bellua Insatiabilis”, that is, “An insatiable beast.” History records that Innocent was never “sine Cibo”, that is, he was never without food.  JPII was “labor of the sun” – he was born during a solar eclipse.  What are the chances?!  Again, I don’t know if he’s a false prophet or not, but so far, I haven’t heard about any false predictions by Malachay (unlike Nostradamus, who was only right 30% of the time.)

Glory of Olives.  According to Malachay, there are two popes after JPII (who died in 2005).  Gloria Olivae was next – “The Glory of Olives”.  Scholars speculate that this means he would be of Jewish descent – because the Bible refers to Israel as ‘the olive tree’.  Ironically, the present pope Benedict/Ratzinger comes from Jewish blood.

Interim Popes.  The ‘church’ has kind of a tradition – to have an ‘interim’ pope between the longer-lasting popes.  The dude before JPII was only pope for 3 weeks.  JPII had been pope for 27 years – the third longest in history.  When they appointed Benny the Rat (my fun term for the present pope, Benedict/Ratzinger), they picked him in spite of his very old age… in fact, it was a good thing, in their opinion, because they wanted an ‘interim’ pope.  He was only supposed to be pope for a few years.  It’s been eight… that’s pretty interim, although I expected him to pass away before this, honestly.

Peter the Roman.  After “Gloria Olivae” (the present pope) is “Peter the Roman”.  This is what Malachay predicted about “Peter the Roman” – In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock among many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people.

Some Things to Note:  This guy will be in charge during the ‘final persecution’ of the church.  Another reason to believe we’re about at the end.  AFTER WHICH denotes that he’ll be out of the picture when Rome is destroyed.  Maybe he’s ousted, maybe he dies in that destruction… we don’t know.  And note that the word ‘Judge’ is capitalized – this is the return of Christ.  What’s funny is that the Catholic church is amillineal – meaning they don’t believe in a rapture, a rule of Christ, or anything that Revelations teaches.  They don’t even know what a HUGE part of that last book they play!

So where are we?  We’re at Peter the Roman.  How close are we to the end?  Well, I just gave you a chart on Friday that should give you an idea of where we are in scripture.  In fact, I gave a LIST of five most likely things to happen next:  and a papal change-over was one of them.  So… here we are, three days later, and with this astounding announcement.

    I. Am. Geeked.  Because this means I’m right on target.  He’s been constant and true, and it’s an exciting time, we’re living in.  Because this is it!  I have been waiting for this… and am looking forward to what comes next!

  • Hon, I don’t think of you only when stuff goes down. I DID want to be sure you saw this….and I wonder who Peter is?

Oh, and ironic that this is happening in the year of the snake, no?

  • What Fiber Addict said! :) :vvv:

  • According to George Ure (who hates religion), if the next dude isn’t named Peter, we’re all good. EXCEPT… that Malachay called the current pope “Gloria Olivae”… which is not his name. He’s either Joseph Ratzinger or Benedict XVI… neither or which have ‘Glory’ or ‘Olive’ in it. So there’s no reason to believe his name WILL be ‘Peter’ or ‘Roman’. Ure needs to be less snarky and more perceptive.

PS: It’s 2/11. Big things seem to happen on ’11′s, don’t they?

  • There’s a reason why this is an incredibly unusual and historic action for a Pope to take. Generally there has only ever been 4 popes to ever resign. The last, in the 1400s. None of them have ever done so for the reasons given by Benny in history… like ever. Once you’re the pope… you pope til’ you die. The previous pope was a fine example of this — if there was ever a man in failing health and mental faculty it’d be him.

Earlier last year, I saw some rumblings this was coming down the pipe, and it was specifically mentioning someone called ”the black pope” as the potential new guy in charge. This refers to someone called Adolfo Nichoas who is more experienced in dealing with outreach to Asian countries, and next to the pope himself (or may be more powerful than) there is no one higher at the top. Already some RC friends of mine have been speculating that the next pope would be someone that could address the ‘needs’ of an ever increasing Asian population that the doctrine is expanding to…or perhaps even a bishop with an asian centric past. Also seen an African bishop as a potential nominee, that would be something quite interesting too.

There’s been an Asian theme this week hasn’t there? The reason why it sort of stood up for me, is because the year of the snake, is also known as the year of the *black* water snake. Snakes are fire elemental signs, this means that there will be fire in the water, and it is a time of great difficulty and unrest and displeasure. But we’ll see… the year has started out with quite a bang already. It means something pretty big for sure.

edit: oh just to clarify, Benny chose his name after the Benedictine Order — it’s crest utilized Olives, which to me certainly fits with gloria olivae. Pope names are always symbolic of something else anyway.

  • Oh girl I think of you often, not just when big things come down the pike. I was just geeked after reading friday’s post & then hearing the news I was all like, oh this is gonna be good! And now I can’t help singing that crazy song “it’s the end of duh world” as we know it, over & over.

  • There’s a black pope in the lineup of possible successors…his name is Peter. (Not saying the guys name HAS to be Peter to qualify for being Peter the Roman, but it is kinda interesting…or not. :)

  • There’s an undersea volcano just off Italy that has been awakening. Fire in the water? Could be the destruction that’s coming. Interesting parallel, anyhow. For it to fit, it’d have to come down in 2013, though – year of the black water snake. We’ll see.

I found an article to look up more on the ‘black popes’, and… meh. It’s very ‘Rothchild conspiracy’, and I don’t see any evidence of the black popes every crossing over and taking the seat of the white. Not sure what to think about this, yet. I’ve been steered away from that whole scene, and still can’t seem to get a yellow or green light on it, so I distance from it.

The were talking an African pope last time, too – Arinze was his name. It didn’t happen for him, though. Asian might be interesting.

Regardless, though… I’m eager to see what happens in March!

PS: It’s not the end, yet. There are quite a few things that have to happen. They’re just kind crazy things. Which makes it exciting!

  • Cagey – that is a lot of additional information there.

I had heard a lot about the Jesuit/Black pope conspiracies from a few friends – but no one wants to seem crazy enough to encourage those things. So shhh.
