Thursday Thankfuls
- I’m thankful for a sense of humor. I was so… BUSY this morning, I forgot that I pre-set everything on this site (thru December 18th!) to post publicly at 11:11 am. And I hadn’t written this blog, yet!! For those of you who saw it… go ahead. Giggle at me!!
Craft and Foodie sites. I have been sucked in. I spent most of my ‘Net time yesterday morning reading back thru the entire blog of Upper West Side Mom: A Jewish Schooling/Crafting/Cooking Blog. Today I’m working my way back thru The Swell Life. I’ve also added two other sites to my morning stops… mostly because the folks I usually visit aren’t posting as much, anymore. And I like being inspired. I’m happier when I’m inspired.
- Remember the 12 crafts I posted? That’s another site that I have added to my daily stop. Today I hope to make their garland with the kids. Did you see it? It’s gorgeous… here, lemme get you a pic! —>>
- Schooling is going GREAT. We’re caught up and keeping up, and I love that. Especially considering it’s December. I wish I had more time to post LEGO-quests, adventure blogs, SOTW activities and such, but… I’m full-up thru Hanukkah!
- Owen has been telling us for days now when he has wet his diaper. “Mom, need new diaper.” This means he knows what he’s doing, is aware of his functions, and is ready to train. So we started yesterday – he’s sat on the pot at least forty times since then (hasn’t managed to pee in it yet, though). I have high hopes for him, though. That one is my SMART cookie.

Projects. Things are happening around here! Tuesday, Excavator Brian showed up with a dump truck holding a full yard of gravel, and his CAT (with the backhoe and front loader), and the kids were glued to the front window, watching him fill in the potholes and crown and smooth the drive. It looks SO nice!! ((I haven’t gone away since grocery nite, Monday, so I haven’t ridden on it, yet.)) But the Drywall Bob called and is planning to be out here the first of next week to do the parlor and faces of the kids’ closets for us. Brian and I will be (hopefully) finishing our rotation racks this weekend, and I’ve ordered a beautiful mural for the thermostat wall… I plan to do it above and below the thermostat, with me painting a diamond pattern around the thermostat. So it’s looking better and better in here!
- I’ve found out why I put on weight last week. It bummed me SO much, but… then a friend linked me to a medical article about how starting a new exercise program often causes weight GAIN before loss, because your body isn’t used to the moves – especially if it’s hard core – and your muscles sustain little micro-tears. Then your body sends extra water to the area to help facilitate healing faster, and that extra water registers as weight, although you really haven’t GAINED anything. Made me feel TONS better… because we’d started the 30-day Shred, and I was frustrated.
- But this week? Apparently those micro-tears are healing, because I’m down 3 pounds! I think. My scale… it’s a disaster. I’m getting a new one Saturday, but until then, I can’t be sure. I weighed myself eight times before I got two of the same number… and one of those was 120, which I *KNOW* is SO not right! LoL!! But the number I hit twice was about where I should be, so I’m good with it.
- I’m learning. I’m grateful that He teaches me almost constantly. About the new moon of Hanukkah. About the OT commands to celebrate Hanukkah. ((You’ll see!!)) About ALL sorts of things. He’s helping me to grow and change every single day. LOVE it.
- Photographic evidence of what I’ve been saying. See, GRKids.com asked if we thought we’d get any snow this year, and everyone (grumblingly) said, ‘Of course, it’s Michigan’. Except for me (because I’m the bane of all sheeple’s existence), and I said due to the wander of polar north, which has triggered a massive melt at the arctic and antarctic poles, increasing the water, decreasing the
amount of reflective white on the surface of the earth, and warming the planet in such a way as to divert the Gulf Stream and the currents globally, I don’t expect much for snow this year… but I predict Europe will get completely hammered with it. I also Brian this (as he and I were moving bikes out of the way in the barn, and he’s ticked off because I just blocked in the snowblower)… and I’m telling him we WON’T NEED IT this year, or maybe ever again… and he says I’m a nutcase and need to loosen up. Except that he can’t argue the facts (and is kinda rude, btw)… Facts of which are PROVEN this this morning in one of the articles I woke up to: http://theextinctionprotocol….erratic-swings-of-jet-stream-heat/ It just proves my point… and I’m grateful for a visual to give people.
- We’re ALMOST done with ‘Alias’. I’m so, so, SO, SO grateful… I don’t like TV on, and it’s been on EVERY. NIGHT. I’ve hit my limit. I want it done. I can’t WAIT to be finished.
- A wonderful night out. We (((((finally!)))))) got to take Lydia to see “Breaking Dawn 2″. We were really blown away by the twist. I… was breathless. It was good. We had a great time. AND I learned that the drink I always order from the bar has a name – it’s a Roy Rogers! Who knew? We all had Roy Rogers cocktails at Red Robin, and had a great night out.
- I’m grateful for so much to have to be grateful for!! Have a good day!

I giggled, and figured that’s what happened. At least you remembered to come back and finish!
I’m hoping we get y’all’s snow – we NEED it. We have grasshoppers in Plague proportions…..it’s bad. We need a few weeks of freezing ick to get rid of them.
Re: weight. I was told that fat turns to muscle quickly, which weighs more. So….don’t fret.
I had a busy day – and last night a dream featureing YOU – but as usual, I am so freaking busy it is not NOT funny. Today sis and I carpooled to class since danny’s is from 9-10:30 and hers is from 10-1:30 and they are like a mile away from each other. On the way there some guy had dropped a bunch of stuff from his truck and she hit a rebar tripod and drug it a quarter mile. The guy said he hit it too! Wow how did it get there?!? funny he was able to stop 10 feet from the debris and we stopped WAY down the road.
Thankfully no one was hurt. I took her to school, went to the sheriffs station, the insurance office, picked her up and then she had to go to county to get her 2nd Hep B shot. Found out Todd’s grandma passed away this morning. It has just been non stop…
Fiber, sweetie, look at the map. Texas is that red/orange area down there. You’re not going to get my snow. The Jet Stream has diverted north, not south. This is why I told you years ago that Texas is NOT a good place to be. It’s not. It’s going to get bad. Even scripture says that man will gnaw their tongues for the heat. So being in a warm place? It means you’re going to get H-h-h-hot. I’m in a cold place. It means I’m going to get warm. It’s not debatable – it’s reality. :halo:
Ali, dreaming about me can’t be good for your health. Neither is hitting tripods like that. Be safe. :littlekiss:
