  • Dear Readers

    You may have noticed my site is rather messed up in appearance.  I am truly very sorry – my host (Xanga) is ‘making improvements’ again, this time in the form of some sort of app compatability.  It seems to me that every instance of their ‘improvements’ results in the complete loss of my skin… and in this case, it’s far more serious – it seems to be the loss of my Premium, as well.  Suddenly there are ads on my page, and I’m being prompted to buy that which I’ve already paid for.

    I’m not happy.  The sidebar is missing – the most vital part of my blog.  The index and search bars are missing – the second and third most important parts of my blog.  I tried to see if it were a discontinuation of skins, but I can’t access my skin, as ‘I’m not a premium user’… except that I am.  In fact, I’ve opted (thru the years) not to go Lifetime Premium, because they get more $$ from me if I pay annually… so I’m paid in full and have been premium for years.  It’s… frustrating.

    I cannot tell you how long my site will be in malfunction mode.  I’m trying to contact Xanga for help, at present.  I’ll keep you posted as to what happens.  And again, I’m sorry for the inconvenience.  If there’s anything you came here looking for, please shoot me an e-mail, and I’ll find it for you.

  • I’ve been thru this four or five times, now. I’m rather leaning that way, HP. I can’t have this happen in case of unmanned blog, if you know what I mean. I can’t have them pull my resources from people. I *PAY* so that this doesn’t happen. I… may have to leave. Which would suck, after 12 years of loyalty.

  • I hear ya – I’m a lifetimer on LJ…and keep having problems. I don’t want to just *leave*…but I can’t afford to buy time elsewhere. DW is free…but limited.(You can pay monthly…but I don’t want to get into that. :sigh:)

  • It’s not so much the corperate loyalty – but all the dang TIME put in making this thing right. and now to have it be all wrong stinks – and trying to transfer everything… I already wonder how anna survives with only 27 minutes of sleep a week (thats true right? cuz if not – I have no idea how she gets stuff done like she does)

    If they paid her minimum wage for all the time she would have to invest in moving her stuff because they can not keep it straight, that would be something, but I don’t imagine they will offer that.

  • They’ve done right by me (with the exception of four or five ‘improvements’) for twelve years, here. I’d just… really like things set back to rights.

    I haven’t heard anything, and I posted on the help section, sent an e-mail to customer service, and commented on the XangaTeam blog. Not sure what’s up. It’s been 24 hours, now…

  • Okay, weird but… when I popped in to check to see if you’d started chatting yet today, this page was ad free and sidebar free, but your non-comment Anna page was full of sidebar-y goodness.

    Fixed?

  • OK – it’s the same for me as it is for Hearth – no ads or sidebars on the comment-version of the page. :scratches head: Weirdness!
