I have read some disturbing things this week... including a really unexpected YouTube video by Ron Paul, saying that we're hurting "those poor Palestinians" and that Israel is aggressive and nasty and yadda yadda. I may be preaching to the choir, but I wanted to clarify a few things. First of all, Gaza is ISRAEL's land. They were given it when they became a state. Second of all, there *IS* no Palestinian nation. The people who call themselves 'Palestinians' are actually a mix of Iraqis, Iranian, and other Arabic and Middle Eastern people who were squatting in Israel during the exile who won't get out, now. They're mostly terrorists, and they chose the name Palestine because it's the modern day version of the word Philistine - which they knew would piss Israel off. I also want to point out that Israel DOES NOT attack Gaza unless they are targeted first. Palestine opens fire on innocent Israelis in school yards, restaurants, and public places. Israel ONLY retaliates, hitting targets they know house militant bases, munition holdings, and Hamas headquarters. If Palestinian civilians are injured it's because the terrorists have purposely used those people as shields, and are trying to make Israel look as bad as THEY - the Palestinians - really are.
I'm sick to DEATH of the 'poor Palestine', poor Gaza crap I'm seeing in the news. And I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of that now that our country is going the Democratic, bleeding heart route. Palestine killed 6000 innocent Israelis. What would WE do if Mexico shot missiles over and killed 6000 Texans? I'll tell you one thing - it wouldn't be "poor Mexico", now would it?! While I'm not entirely sure we should be providing support to Israel (I'm still mulling non-interventionalism) - I'm not sure we should support or be involved in ANYTHING over there, since we haven't got our own shit in order and it's not our business (and it only makes for trouble to stick your nose in other people's business)... in spite of all of that, I still had to clarify who is the bad guy in the scenario. And it's NOT Israel.
